Pure 8 Hot Yoga is a studio based on community and teaching the essence of yoga. It’s not about being able to do a handstand, it’s about returning to your practice time and time again. I had two main objectives when creating the new online experience. First, capture the spirit of community that you feel when you’re in the studio. Second, make buying packages and memberships easy and seamless.

Homepage
The original website was dark, hard to navigate, and didn’t express a feeling of calm. My aim was not only to design a site that was beautiful and easy to navigate but that captured the experience of being in the physical studio. The grey in the background is the same as the paint on the studio walls, all of the imagery is taken in the space with actual students and the layout is spacious, leaving room to breathe.
Digital Studio
Adding an online class experience was paramount to the studio surviving the pandemic. I started by researching what was already out there in the market, looking at both local and national fitness studios to see what worked and what didn’t in the online space. The best experiences were simple and easily searchable.
This research informed the layout and features of the virtual library. I created a thumbnail for each class type and highlighted the duration and instructor, so students could find what they’re looking for with just a glance.
